Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled, creative, and fast-moving Social Media Manager to lead and execute the campaign’s digital presence. The purpose of this role is to translate the candidate’s public voice online—capturing real-time moments, driving engagement, and building a compelling narrative across all platforms.
The Social Media Manager will work directly alongside the candidate at events, on the trail, and behind the scenes to produce timely, engaging, and strategic content. Responsibilities include working with the campaign team to develop a social media strategy and brand, coming up with creative ideas for posts, creating and posting content, and engaging with an audience on multiple platforms.
This is an ideal role for an entry-level applicant looking to get hands-on professional experience in social media management and digital content creation.
Responsibilities:
Real-Time Content Creation:
Attend events with the candidate to capture high-quality photos and videos, develop and edit photos to produce content for social media.
Social Media Strategy:
Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with campaign goals, messaging, and voter outreach priorities.
Content Planning & Ideation:
Propose creative, relevant, and platform-specific content ideas that resonate with target audiences and drive engagement.
Platform Management:
Oversee and manage all campaign social media accounts (e.g., Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, TikTok), ensuring consistency in tone, branding, and messaging.
Rapid Response & Trend Monitoring:
Monitor news cycles, trends, and online conversations to quickly produce responsive content and capitalize on timely opportunities.
Audience Engagement:
Actively engage with followers, respond to comments/messages, and help build a strong, authentic online community.
Analytics & Optimization:
Track performance metrics and adjust strategies based on data to improve reach, engagement, and conversion.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the full campaign team to align messaging and amplify campaign priorities.
Supporting Campaign Goals
Support voter contact efforts and other broader campaign goals as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience with producing social media content, professionally or personally.
Deep understanding of major social media platforms, trends, and best practices
Strong photography and video skills, including shooting and editing on mobile
Ability to think creatively and execute quickly.
Highly organized, self-directed, and adaptable
Willingness to work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends
Deep familiarity with internet culture and emerging digital trends
