JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Specialist to join our campaign team for Devon, who is running for Position 6 on the McKenzie School District #68 School Board and Position 6 (at-large) for Lane Education Service District Board of Directors in Lane County, OR. As a Social Media Specialist, you will be at the heart of our digital campaign efforts, crafting compelling content across various social media platforms to engage voters, amplify our message, and drive campaign initiatives. Your role will be crucial in building our online presence, engaging with the community, and contributing to our goal of winning both elections by a significant margin.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

  • Create engaging, timely, and platform-specific content including text, graphics, and video.

  • Monitor social media trends and analytics to guide strategy adjustments.

  • Engage with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner, and monitor customer reviews.

  • Collaborate with the digital, communications, and field teams to coordinate campaign messaging.

  • Organize and manage social media content calendars to ensure consistent and relevant content.

  • Report on social media performance, providing insights and recommendations.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred not required).

  • Proven experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role, with a portfolio of past work.

  • Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), and communication skills.

  • Deep understanding of major social media platforms and their best practices.

  • Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights.

  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video).

  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics.

  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels.

  • Ability to grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively.

  • Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
