Invicta is hiring a remote, part-time software engineer or software engineering intern to help us make Democratic political campaigns more efficient, effective, tech-savvy, and fun. The ideal candidate will be able to jump in quickly to help scope and build features for our campaign task management application. They’ll be a core member of our engineering team and will design features, write clean full-stack code, and iterate quickly as we work through beta feedback.
About Us:
seasoned campaigners and programmers with experience on dozens of state, local, and federal campaigns in management, field, finance, tech, and political roles
a tight, fast-moving team based in Virginia Beach and New York City
building on knowledge from a beta release with Virginia House campaigns in 2025
planning on launching to US Congressional campaigns in early 2026
running a simple, lean tech stack (React [Typescript], Supabase) with modern tooling
About You:
an enthusiastic, kind, and smart programmer who is equally comfortable weighing the intricacies of architectural decisions and quickly vibe-coding the latest features
experienced building software for the web, especially with Typescript, React, Postgres, and/or Supabase
able to work a varied but flexible (5-20hrs/week) schedule starting ASAP, and good at communicating about progress, roadblocks, and availability
familiar with Git, not afraid of a CLI, experienced with LLM coding tools, comfortable with Google Suite
excited about working in Democratic and progressive politics
able to talk about product and UX decisions

Compensation and term:
Pay is $25-40/hr depending on experience. The role we are currently hiring for is part-time and limited-term, but we can discuss longer-term opportunities after a few months.
