About the Role
J Street is looking for a junior level motivated staffer with excellent organizational and prioritization skills to fill the role of Special Assistant to the President and Office Assistant. The position will act as the right hand to the President. You will be responsible for a wide-ranging portfolio of administrative responsibilities, supporting and gaining insight into the highest levels of J Street’s strategic work. The person in this role will need to be able to move quickly between tasks and have a positive, collected attitude. The ideal candidate will be able to exercise good judgment in a variety of settings and must be able to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. As Office Assistant, your role will be to create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of operational effectiveness and professionalism. This would be a great role for a recent graduate or someone who is new to the workforce.
Responsibilities
Executive Support:
Manage the President’s calendar, protecting and managing his time and keeping him well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities
Staff the President during J Street’s in-person national events
Work with regional offices to schedule and plan travel for the President
Maintain schedule, agenda and notes for daily senior staff meetings and other meetings
Provide support for J Street’s Board of Directors, including scheduling, taking minutes and executing in-person Board meetings two times per year
Provide administrative support for the President as needed
Office and Administrative Support
Ensure that J Street materials, office supplies, furniture, kitchen supplies and other office resources are stocked and available
Ensure kitchen is cleaned and maintained
Generally ensure smooth operation and professionalism of J Street’s national office
Provide calendaring support for the SVP of Operations and Staff Engagement
Oversee the meeting improvement team to ensure a positive meeting culture across the organization
Provide general administrative support for the Operations (Spine) team
Requirements

Highly organized and detail-oriented
Superior time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use or create systems to prioritize multiple tasks and manage projects to meet deadlines effectively
Eager to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Google Workspace products
A positive and problem-solving attitude

Compensation and Benefits
This is a junior level full-time, non-exempt position, with occasional work outside traditional work hours on an as-needed basis. The salary is $50,000-$55,000. Pay and title are commensurate with experience and according to pay bands outlined in our compensation philosophy and CBA. This position is expected to be in-person at least 4 days a week.
