Compensation: $18/hr, 20 hrs per week.
Overview: The campaign to elect Amy Klobuchar governor**** is hiring multiple Spring and/or Summer Fellows to join our fast-paced, people-powered campaign. This fellowship is designed for motivated and politically engaged individuals who want hands-on experience in a statewide campaign environment. Fellows will gain exposure to communications, organizing, events, fundraising and campaign operations while playing a meaningful role in helping elect Amy our Governor and advancing our values. The ideal candidate is highly disciplined, outgoing, and cares about politics as a means to improve people’s lives.
This is an entry-level, immersive opportunity for someone eager to learn the inner workings of a modern political campaign, contribute creatively, and grow professionally in progressive politics. Fellows will work closely with senior staff across departments and be trusted with real responsibility and take on a signature project.
Responsibilities per Department
Communications
Assist with creating and distributing campaign content across social media, email, and press channels
Help draft social media posts, press materials, and internal updates
Support video and photo capture at campaign events and assist with rapid-turn content
Track media coverage, social engagement, and digital performance metrics
Finance
Conduct donor research to identify new prospective donors
Maintain and update existing donor records
Build fundraising events through phone and email outreach
Assist with preparing call sheets and briefing memos
Provide staffing support at fundraising events
Prepare thank you letters and other fundraising materials
Organizing & Field
Assist with volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement
Support canvassing, phone banking, and voter contact programs
Staff community events, canvasses, and voter outreach activities
Help manage materials and supplies for field programs
Enter and maintain accurate data in voter and volunteer databases
Support regional organizing efforts as assigned
Political
Assist with candidate scheduling, briefings, and preparation for events and meetings
Conduct research on local stakeholders, community leaders, and policy issues
Help prepare call sheets, background memos, and briefing materials
Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts, including event preparation and follow-up
Track endorsements, coalition outreach, and political relationships
Provide on-the-ground support to senior political staff and campaign leadership
Operations
Maintain organized tracking systems for contacts, events, and materials
Support data entry, list building, and reporting projects
Order and collect needed materials
Assist with preparing briefing memos and background materials
Help ensure campaign offices and events run smoothly
Special Projects (All)
Take on individual projects based on interest (communications, political, or organizing focus)
Support rapid response needs and major campaign moments as they arise
Qualifications
Interest in politics, campaigns, and public service
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Capacity to follow instructions and work within a clear supervisory structure
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required by campaign schedules
Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
Prior campaign, organizing, or advocacy experience preferred but not required

Benefits: Employees are paid on the 15th and last day of each month and receive a competitive benefits package including health care.
