JOB DESCRIPTION

Position:   St. Louis Field Manager

Reports to:   Senior Manager of Field and Programs, Organizing Director

Compensation: $1000/week

Benefits:   32 hour work week; weekly gas stipend of $240/mos ($60/week); $150/mos wellness stipend, $50/mos remote work reimbursement; 10 PTO days

Status:   Full time, non-exempt, temporary June 1 through November 30, 2026

Location:   St. Louis Region

 

Abortion Action Missouri is seeking a Field Manager to help oversee the implementation field programs throughout the 2026 Missouri general election. This position will be multifaceted and be geared at helping Abortion Action Missouri conduct widespread engagement with voters throughout the St. Louis region in the service of long term power building for abortion justice in Missouri. The Field Manager will be tasked with overseeing the management of our field program in the St. Louis region. This will include management and leadership development of a paid field team, script development, ongoing analysis of results from the field, and post-election work including re-engagement with supporters and the development of a post-election memo. This position is full-time and temporary.

Our mission is to foster and sustain a Midwest movement for control of our bodies, lives, and futures. We envision a world with stigma-free abortion access and reproductive freedom for all. With 80,000+ members, we are the largest statewide organization working exclusively on reproductive rights issues. Abortion Action Missouri is a grassroots 501(c)(4) advocacy organization. Two additional affiliated organizations help advance Abortion Action Missouri’s mission. The Abortion Action Missouri Foundation (a 501(c)(3)) conducts public education and research intended to increase public awareness of relevant reproductive health, rights, and justice issues. The Abortion Action Missouri PAC (AAM PAC) is the political action committee that conducts direct electoral work with and for pro-choice candidates.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day management of a paid canvass team including scheduling, pre-shift check-ins and daily team debriefs 

  • Run weekly meeting with paid canvass team to review campaign results, reflect, and drive toward campaign goals

  • Collaborate in development of canvassing script and provide feedback on how it can be improved

  • Partake in development and implementation of canvasser training and support the development of canvassers through shadowing and individual debrief where needed 

  • Review results from canvasses using VAN and Google Forms and report them back to Senior Manager of Field and Programs on a weekly basis

  • Reliable transportation is a necessity

  • Strong commitment to reproductive rights and justice 

  • Ability to work independently and problem solve when faced with challenges 

  • Familiarity with political environment and community in Missouri

  • Experience managing teams of diverse people toward a shared goal

  • Experience planning and conducting trainings and facilitating meetings

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in voter management systems (i.e. VAN, EveryAction, etc.), Slack, and Google Drive

  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and strategic thinking

  • Ability to communicate effectively and to build positive relationships with staff and team you manage
