State Project Manager(one each in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Nebraska (Omaha), New Hampshire, Nevada and Pennsylvania. Candidates must live in one of these states to be considered.)
This is position runs through November 15, 2024. Part time (20-25 hours a week) through June. Full time, July-November
Who we are: DJs at the Polls is a national, non-partisan get out the vote initiative that turns on the music to turn out the vote. We make Election Day a celebration by hiring local DJs to bring music to polling places around the country.
What You’ll Do: DJs at the Polls is seeking one State Project Manager in each of the following states: Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Nebraska (Omaha), New Hampshire, Nevada and Pennsylvania to work with the national team to coordinate equipment distribution, track recruitment of DJs, manage local group partnerships, train and manage election-day support teams, and coordinate communication with DJs who will be playing music at polling sites throughout the state on election day, November 5th, 2024.
As a State Project Manager you will serve as the local representative for DJs at the Polls within the communities we serve. You’ll support our goal to strengthen democracy by encouraging more citizens to vote, and by framing voting as a joyful, fun experience.
Specific Duties include:
Work with the recruitment team to hire local DJs for election-related work and performing at the polls on election day
Coordinate with local non-profits for paid and volunteer help for the initiative.
Manage coordination between local partners for equipment distribution to DJs
Assess chosen polling sites for viability and accessibility (some area travel required)
Lead communication area DJs about their polling place assignments, scheduling texts, and sending emails (much of this will be automated)
Liaison with DJ recruiters and community partners’ in each state and management staff
Manage and maintain a DJ database
Run pre-election day training sessions for DJs
Supervise outreach to local polling places prior to election day
Other duties as assigned by DJs Leadership as the project evolves.
Work with other State leaders and DJs at the Polls executive team to streamline efforts and implement best practices
Communicate with volunteer manager about statewide needs for volunteer support
Represent DJs at the Polls at networking events, fundraising meetings, etc.
Who you are:
Someone with project management experience (not necessarily in the political/voting space)
Excellent communicator and team leader
Exceptionally well organized with attention to detail and process
Able to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, keep projects on track, and execute deliverables
You approach high-pressure situations with patience, courtesy, and respect
You know when there is a need to escalate high priority issues to leadership and when to handle something on your own, excellent judgment, and proactive problem solver
You have strong time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
You are proficient in Google Sheets, Google Forms, Gmail Mail Merge, Google Calendar, Google Drive
You’re able to build authentic relationships across lines of difference, such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, ability, gender identity or other identities.
You have a willingness to work non-traditional hours, think independently, take initiative, be self-directed, and meet deadlines.
Ability to drive to various sites within the state to assess appropriateness of locations and storage facilities. Some overnight travel may be required.
