Strategic Analyst – Strategic Consulting Team
Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000
Location: Remote – must be based in the US
Job Description:
Strategic Analysts combine TargetSmart’s extensive data and analytics resources with advanced analysis and visualization techniques to deliver actionable insights that shape client strategy. Working closely with Strategic Consultants and other stakeholders, Strategic Analysts translate complex datasets into clear, impactful tools that help campaigns, organizations, and businesses make informed decisions and achieve their goals.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Strategic Consultants to help clients achieve political, advocacy, marketing, or outreach goals through actionable analysis that drives decision-making
Create reports that inform campaigns, organizations, and other clients on key performance indicators, precinct-level election results, voter turnout, incumbency, and related metrics to guide strategy
Develop maps and other geographic resources based on client needs to support targeted outreach and resource allocation
Incorporate client feedback and troubleshoot issues to maintain high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction
Multitask and ensure on-time deliverables for multiple projects for wide variety of clients ensuring on-time delivery and consistent quality across all work
Advance and refine the Strategic Solutions team’s techniques and methodologies to deliver more robust analyses and actionable recommendations for client campaigns
Skills and Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience using a wide range of data sets such as voter data, census data, commercial data, or other publicly available data to provide actionable analysis and tools to inform political, advocacy, marketing, or other outreach programs
Experience creating maps and other geographic resources using Maptitude, Arc-GIS, or equivalent spatial manipulation tools
Familiarity with census geographies (block, block group, tract, etc.), census reapportionment, and census data sets such as the American Community Survey and other census data products
Familiarity with political and electoral performance data and concepts such as the Democratic performance index (DPI), precinct-level election results, voter turnout, incumbency, etc.
Experience creating automated reporting to help inform campaigns, organizations, and other clients on key performance indicators (KPI) around their outreach and campaign programs
Experience receiving feedback and then troubleshooting/problem-solving issues as they arise
The ability to multi-task and work on multiple concurring projects is a must
This position is client-facing, so solid communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently
Strong technical writing skills and the ability to present information to clients that convey key concepts and conclusions are also necessary
Nice to have Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with Alteryx a plus
Experience with Tableau a plus
Direct experience with voter files a plus
