About Rob Sand:
Auditor Rob Sand – Iowa's only Democrat in statewide or federal office and the state's most popular elected official – made a historic entrance into the open governor's race, raising a record-breaking $2.25 million in his first 24 hours. A former Assistant Iowa Attorney General and the state's chief public corruption prosecutor, Rob was first elected Auditor in 2018 and re-elected in 2022 with strong bipartisan support. In 2025, Rob raised $9.5 million – more than double the previous state record and more than the entire gubernatorial field combined. The National Journal has called Sand "the strongest Democrat running statewide anywhere in the country this cycle," and the Cook Political Report has rated this race a "Toss Up."
Responsibilities:
Conduct donor research to support the campaign’s call time preparation and outreach
Make recruitment calls to prospective attendees for fundraising events
Complete fundraising calls to donors in support of key campaign finance deadlines
Help prepare for and staff fundraising events in Iowa
Maintain accurate data across campaign fundraising systems
Assist in drafting memos for the principal’s use
Log, process, and mail donor thank you letters and other campaign correspondence
Help provide additional administrative support to the finance team
Support the finance team with other projects as needed
Qualifications:
Strong research skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with Google Sheets and comfort working in a data-heavy environment
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Discretion in handling confidential donor information
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Self-starter with a willingness to take initiative and a positive attitude
Interest in campaign finance, operations, and compliance
Commitment to electing Rob Sand as Iowa's next governor
