JOB DESCRIPTION

The Michigan Democratic Party is seeking an experienced Training Director to build a comprehensive training program in Michigan in 2024. We are looking for a passionate, hardworking individual who is committed to designing and executing an innovative training program for coordinated staff and volunteers. 

 

This position reports to the General Election Director and is based in Detroit, Michigan. 

Responsibilities 

● Planning and executing the material creation and coordination efforts for all major statewide trainings, including staff onboardings, all-staff trainings, virtual state-wide volunteer trainings and management submits. 

● Develop an ongoing training curriculum to support professional development of staff across all levels. 

● Designing and implementing training processes, materials and any other resources to support volunteers interacting with our campaign across all departments. ● Travel to offices around the state to support staff trainings and conduct volunteer trainings when needed. 

● Other responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications 

● 3+ cycles of organizing experience, experience managing staff is preferred. ● Experiencing training staff and/or volunteers in the campaign space. ● Ability to develop and execute trainings that are informational and engaging. ● Willingness to conduct trainings virtually with online tools and within offices and the community. 

● Experience working in large, metric driven voter contact programs. ● Must have access to a cell phone and vehicle.
