Position Title: Training Program Coordinator
Location: St. Paul, MN (Hybrid – in-office 4 days/week with 1 remote day)
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Department: Organizing
Reports To: Chief Organizing Director
Democrats across the country have looked to the Minnesota DFL Party as a model for how to win elections and improve people’s lives. For more than seventy years, the Minnesota DFL has worked tirelessly to enact progressive policies and provide a platform for those who need it most. We believe that every Minnesotan has a right to stable employment with fair wages, to a proper education, to raise and provide for a family, to accessible and affordable health care, to live in safe communities, and to retire with dignity and security.
About the Job
The DFL is seeking a Training Program Coordinator to build and lead a robust statewide training program that equips activists, volunteers, local party leaders, candidates, and community partners with the skills and knowledge they need to power Democratic victories across Minnesota.
This new, permanent position is ideal for someone who excels at bringing structure to big ideas, building partnerships, and managing multiple moving parts behind the scenes. The Coordinator will not be the primary trainer, but will manage the content, scheduling, logistics, and overall experience of a year-round training program that reflects the DFL’s values and strategic goals.
This is a high-impact role that will play a critical part in building long-term grassroots power ahead of a pivotal election cycle.
Develop and manage a comprehensive annual training plan in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Coordinate all aspects of training logistics, communications, and materials for in-person and virtual audiences.
Support the development of accessible, engaging curriculum and maintain a centralized content library.
Provide technical and facilitation support to trainers and participants during events.
Track and analyze feedback and participation data to continually improve offerings.
Build relationships with local and national training providers and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
You are someone who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments and brings a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to your work. You believe in the DFL’s values and are excited to contribute your skills to strengthening our political infrastructure.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
A commitment to the principles of the DFL Party and electing Democrats at every level
Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
Comfort working across departments and with volunteers, candidates, and community stakeholders
A flexible, “all-hands-on-deck” mindset
Cultural competency and an equity-centered approach to leadership development and adult education
Additional qualifications that will help you succeed in this role:
Experience coordinating or delivering training programs (especially in political, nonprofit, or grassroots contexts)
Familiarity with platforms like Zoom, Google Workspace, and learning management systems
Knowledge of Minnesota’s political geography and DFL structures (preferred but not required)
Don’t meet every single requirement? We encourage you to apply anyway. Studies show that women, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, and members of other underrepresented communities often hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. At the DFL, we are committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of Minnesota — including people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and backgrounds. We believe our party and our work are stronger when everyone is included and empowered.
This is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary range of $50,000–$70,000 depending on experience. The DFL offers a competitive benefits package, including:
Health, dental, and vision insurance
Paid time off and holidays
Flexible scheduling
Professional development opportunities
Please submit a resume and a brief cover letter outlining your interest in the role and relevant experience to: Alyse Maye Quade, Chief Organizing Director, at amayequade@dfl.org
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Priority will be given to those received by June 13th, 2025
