ABOUT THIS ROLE
BerlinRosen is seeking an experienced public affairs strategist to join us as a Vice President. In this role, you will create strategies, manage campaigns and promote programs that drive media coverage, persuade stakeholders and grow coalitions in support of your clients’ public affairs priorities at the local, state and federal levels. You will work with a team of expert colleagues and oversee the day-to-day account flow by managing junior staff and client relations.
You will have the unique opportunity to join a talented and growing team working on an exciting mix of projects and issues facing the future of New York City and State, as well as locations around the country—including land use and urban planning, social equity, supportive, affordable and market-rate housing, clean energy, economic development and health care.
**Role location: This role is based in our **New York, N.Y. office on a hybrid basis. The Cities team is in-office 3 days per week.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
As a Vice President on the Cities team, you will…
Set and advance the communications strategy for multiple high-profile clients
Develop and oversee integrated campaigns that leverage public affairs, media and digital tactics to reach key audiences and achieve client goals
Engage and maintain strong relationships with key reporters
Write and edit persuasive external and internal documents such as press releases, op-eds, fact sheets, talking points, editorial board memos and communications plans
Mentor and lead staff through consistent feedback, monitoring results and supporting professional growth
Drive business development and lead RFP responses
Essential skills:
7+ years of experience in strategic communications in relevant companies (building cities physically and culturally), political campaigns, government, media or journalism covering relevant sectors
Thoughtful people management skills with experience leading diverse and inclusive teams and the ability to support professional growth through individualized techniques
Creative problem-solving approach to strategies with an eye for each client’s unique history and goals
Exceptional client-service skills that makes each client feel like they’re your highest priority
Strong written and oral communications skills with impeccable editing eyes and can skillfully adapt your presentation style depending on your audience
Expert multi-tasker with the ability to handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to details

WORKING AT BERLINROSEN
**Compensation philosophy: **BerlinRosen offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.
Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $130,000-$150,000
Vice Presidents are eligible for end of year bonuses based on firm, team and individual performance.
