Jenifer Rajukumar for Public Advocate is seeking ** Virtual Campaign Fellows** for a competitive Public Advocate race in New York City. We are looking for passionate, hard-working individuals who will work with the campaign team to build a robust voter outreach and turnout program in New York City.
After years of advocacy, empowerment, and justice work across the nation, Jenifer Rajkumar is bringing the fight to City Hall on behalf of all New Yorkers. She made history when she became the first South Asian-American woman ever elected to New York State Office, defeating an 11-year incumbent by the largest vote margin of any challenger in the State.
Responsibilities
Engage directly with voters through phone banking and texting.
Work with campaign staff to plan and execute campaign events including phonebanks
Recruit and train volunteers to participate in direct action with the campaign
Other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and high comfort level with talking to voters door to door, over the phone, and at public events on a regular basis
Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
Collaborative mindset and ability to work with a team to accomplish common goals
Interest in electing Democratic candidates and a strong commitment to progressive values
Logistics
This is an unpaid position with flexible scheduling, where Fellows will be expected to contribute ten hours per week to the campaign. The campaign will work with Fellows to increase their exposure to other areas of the campaign such as finance, communications, and campaign management, and will work with the Fellows’ colleges to guarantee college credit.
