JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a passionate and organized Volunteer Coordinator to join our dynamic campaign team. The Volunteer Coordinator will play a pivotal role in mobilizing grassroots support for Devon’s dual candidacy for Position 6 on the McKenzie School District #68 School Board and Position 6 (at-large) for Lane Education Service District Board of Directors in Lane County, OR. This individual will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to engage in various campaign activities such as door-knocking, phone banking, event support, and digital advocacy. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a talent for organization, and a strong commitment to our campaign's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention.

  • Organize training sessions for volunteers on campaign messaging, canvassing techniques, and phone banking protocols.

  • Schedule and manage volunteers for various campaign activities, ensuring optimal use of resources and coverage.

  • Maintain regular communication with volunteers, providing updates, feedback, and appreciation for their efforts.

  • Work closely with the Field Director and other team members to coordinate campaign efforts and maximize impact.

  • Track volunteer hours and contributions, utilizing data to improve volunteer strategies and effectiveness.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in volunteer coordination or a similar role, preferably within a campaign or non-profit organization.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.

  • Familiarity with digital tools and platforms for managing volunteers and organizing campaigns.

  • A passion for education and a strong alignment with the campaign’s goals and values.

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, as campaign activities often extend beyond regular business hours.
