Summary: The Montana Democratic Party is hiring part-time Voter Access Fellows to ensure all eligible Montanans can exercise their right to vote this November. Voter Access Fellows will be responsible for recruiting and training voter protection volunteers, leading voter protection hotline shifts, and completing special projects as assigned. Montana is the most important battleground state in 2024, with highly competitive elections at all levels, including reelecting Senator Jon Tester. This position is a part-time, remote position. Voter Access Fellows will report to the Deputy Voter Access Director.** No campaign experience is necessary! All training is provided.**
Ideal Applicants Will Have:
● Reliable access to internet, a computer, and a cellphone
● Strong communication skills - must be able to speak with with all kinds of voters
● Drive to work towards and meet ambitious goals, and ability to take feedback from managers
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work irregular hours; including weekends
● Attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and ability to represent the Montana Democratic Party
● Prior campaign experience, especially volunteering to talk with voters, is appreciated
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Recruit, manage, and train volunteers to participate in MDP’s voter protection programs; including but not limited to staffing the MDP’s voter protection hotline, poll watching, inactive voter reactivation phonebanks, and ballot cure efforts
● Implement strategies to meet daily and weekly Voter Access organizing metrics, adhere to MDP’s established data standards, and ensure accurate data collection for all activities
● Prepare volunteer teams to prepare for a robust statewide ballot cure program
● Consistently meet deadlines and communicate challenges to Deputy Voter Access Director
Compensation: This part-time position starts at 15 hours per week, and is compensated at $18 per hour. Fellows’ weekly hours can be expanded depending on campaign needs, Fellow availability, and individual job performance. This temporary, non-exempt position is anticipated to end no later than November 2024.
