JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

The Iowa Democratic Party is seeking a Voter File Manager to assist the Data Director in managing access to the state party’s voter file, a key function of the state party’s data operations. We are looking for a passionate, hardworking leader committed to supporting our candidates and local organizers, helping to power Democrats to victory up and down the ballot.

Responsibilities

  • Management of the state party’s VoteBuilder

  • Management of users and committees with access to the state party’s Voter File, including setting up new campaigns, and answering support requests

  • Enforce compliance with the state party’s data policies

  • Respond to user support requests and train users on using various data and campaign tools

  • Create training materials and instructional manuals for tools used by the state party

  • Provide trainings for candidates, campaign staff, and others on how to effectively use the voter file in Iowa

  • Support other members of the data team to complete projects as necessary

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of VoteBuilder (VAN)

  • At least 1 cycle of campaign experience, volunteer or professional

  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users, especially VAN usage and data standards

  • Experience with SQL preferred

This position is full-time and lasts through November 2026. Applicants must have a reliable laptop, cell phone, and vehicle. Applicants must also be comfortable working irregular hours including nights and weekends.
