Project 26 Pennsylvania, founded in 2023, is a student and youth voter focused organization working across the commonwealth to engage, register, educate, persuade, and mobilize young voters to become active participants in our shared civic landscape. Our goal is to promote and expand democracy in Pennsylvania by elevating youth leadership in order to get organized, vote in key elections, and exercise our power to take control of our lives through civic engagement.
Overview:
In 2026 Project 26 Pennsylvania is expanding our Voter Protection team to include a full time Voter Protection Organizer. This role will be responsible for expanding the reach of P26’s non-partisan voter protection work both directly with young voters, with stakeholders on campus, and with county governments. The Voter Protection Organizer will directly manage a portion of the voter protection program portfolio, including Voter Protection Fellows, and will work closely in collaboration with the Voter Protection Director.
What this Role will Ask of You:
Election Administration
Tracking election administration details at the county level, including voter registration specificities respective to assigned regions
Preparation and attendance of public county meetings within defined turf
Stakeholder relationship development both at the county, campus, and state level
Voter Engagement and Education
Owning research projects to inform 2026 voter education materials
Assisting in the design and preparation of messaging and materials for direct voter contact
Offer strategic feedback
Supporting voter registration quality control & training programs
Spending time in the field as needed
Management
Leading and directly managing the Voter Protection Fellow team to their goals
Recruiting, training, and deploying volunteers both in the field and for remote voter outreach programs (calls, texts)
Greater Team Interactions
Regular check ins with Voter Protection and P26 leadership
Coordination with other departments as needed
What You Bring to the Role:
2-3 years of experience in democracy work, campaign organizing, or issue advocacy
1+ year in a role that involved management of direct reports
Adept ability to think creatively
Comfortable working as a facet of a larger team
Experience remotely managing volunteer teams
Familiarity with elections in Pennsylvania
Interest in growing your own skills and expertise in the voter protection space
Experience voting on campus (good, neutral, or bad)
Experience talking to peers and participating in groups that focus on an issue
Creative approaches to information sharing, design, and communication
Motivation to see youth voices taken more seriously by decision makers on and off campus
Desire to see increased voter turnout in 2026
Familiarity with VAN and ScaleToWin
Ts & Cs of the Role:
Weekday availability from 9am - 5pm EST, with increased work load periods around Welcome Weeks and GOTV
Ability to work remotely & travel for 1x a month in person meetings
Compensation is $25/hour
A travel stipend or mileage reimbursement for all role specific travel
Reports directly to the Voter Protection Director
Be located in or willing to relocate to Allentown
