Job Description
The Washington State Democratic Party is seeking a Program Director to launch our 2025 organizing program to strengthen our grassroots and community presence across the state building both community awareness of what is at stake during the Trump Presidency and building a volunteer base that is ready for 2026 and beyond.
A successful candidate will be an experienced political organizer with a history of building strong relationships with allies and sustainable volunteer teams.
The Program Director will report to the Executive Director and will manage multiple Regional Organizers.

Requirements
Core Competencies
The Program Director is responsible for hiring and managing Regional Organizers, building robust political networks, and managing a program to strengthen grassroots volunteer networks across the state.
Unwavering commitment to winning Democratic majorities at all levels in Washington state, and a demonstrated commitment to the Democratic Party.
Experience
At least three cycles of political organizing experience, with at least one cycle in a management role.
Expertise with VAN; familiarity with modern campaign tools and techniques
Ability to adapt to evolving priorities
Comfortable working in a metrics and deadline driven environment
A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and the ability to work evening and weekend hours.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain statewide volunteer networks
Recruit, train and manage regional organizers
Hold regional organizers accountable for metrics
Build and manage a grassroots volunteer program
Provide training and resources to LPOs
Benefits
Salary range is $85,000 - $90,000, with comprehensive health care, vision, and dental coverage, mileage and phone stipend, paid time off, sick leave, bereavement leave, and paid observed holidays.
